A bit of history
Hailing from Fouesnant, Claude has seen many an apple barrel since his childhood: he grew up on the family cider farm at Kerveguen in Beg Meil, located in the centre of the PDO area.
An cider apple enthusiast and equally passionate about traditional cider-making in Fouesnant, Claude has become an expert on local apple varieties and their characteristics, both in the orchard and in the cider bottle.
After a stint as a milk quality inspector, he naturally became a full-time cider brewer. He clearly communicated his enthusiasm to his children: Steven, who studied oenology, and Lénaïg, who studied business management, took over the cider farm in 2013.
Today — not surprisingly, given their rich family heritage! — they craft one of the most archetypical and characteristic Cornouaille ciders, made primarily from local apple varieties.
